Mark, My iPod

So after 3 months, I decided that Mark VI is gone. I set out to purchase a new 7th Generation iPod Nano. I looked into the usual places for pricing comparison of Craigslist, and FB Market. But I also tried out the shopping apps of OfferUp and Letgo. Sure enough, OfferUp had what I was looking for. During the summer of 2016, Mark VI tumbled outta my pocket and ate shit right into the pavement like he had done before. Except this time I heard the tell-tale quishy sound of glass shattering. He and I rolled along until New Year's Eve when he done ran off, never to be seen again. The following is i nteresting timeline about my iPod Nano's... iPod Nano, Generation 2 (G2), Mark I – 9/28/08 to present (on loan to my sister, she is the custodian) iPod Nano, Generation 3 (G3), Mark II – 10/6/09 to 2/7/10 (dropped in Costco parking lot, cracked screen) iPod Nano, Generation 3 (G3), Mark III – 2/8/10 to 2/22/10 (put it through the laundry, accidentally forgot it in a pocke...

Numb3rs Game - What's Yours?

This morning I posted up at the local #PostNet to discuss a print job I wanted to complete. While he was working, and I was waiting for him to completed, we talked a grip. I noticed it's my cousin's birthday, however, it's been a minute since I've exchanged any sort of communication with her so I thought I would break from the norm of jumping on Facebook to post happy birthday like everyone else would do. However, I knew she was working her way through personal issues which most likely caused her to change her phone number. On the off chance my information was accurate, I sent a text along the lines of "Hey there, I don't know if this is still your phone number, Z, but it's Los. Hit me back if it is." I didn't receive a reply, so I used FB Messenger to obtain her number. Sure enough, it had changed. Then I chuckled out loud. The clerk asked what was amusing, and hoping it wasn't his quality of work. I assured him it wasn't, and that...

Run Los Run

The female electronic voice from iPod (Mark VI) earbuds fills my head. "Congratulations, you've completed your 30 minute run." Her words trail off into the early morning darkness near the Costco Wholesale Corporate Lake as I remove them. The metrics are nothing to write home to Jesse James Wise about. Or any other of my fitness freak friends (said with all the love in my heart, by the way) But it's a record for me. Since you don't my history, then you don't understand the impact. I snicker as the tsunami of memories flood my mind with memories from long ago. Why do I run? Because I wasn't competitive or talented enough for ball sports (e.g. football, basketball) or stick-and-ball sports (e.g. baseball, softball, lacrosse) Mind you, I could play and capable enough. I wasn't never good enough for coaches to accept me after tryouts. So I ran, and ran fast. Like the wind! Finally, something I can do and do well. Propel myself through a variety of terr...

"Lucky" Is Still Lucky - For Now

The microwave version / elevator speech version: I ordered a 64GB iPhone 6 today. The 'War and Peace' edition right here. Read more ... I usually don't treat myself until it's absolutely necessary or apparent. From shoes to computers to cars. When I do, I drop top dollar (mad cheddar) on the best value for the equipment based on my intended use and/or longevity of it. American society become an easily consumable and disposable culture. But I'm old school, raised old school, and probably continue to operate that way. Take for my example my current phone, 16GB iPhone 5 (no C or S), that I call "Lucky". How I named is even a longer story! And for another time. I purchased it after I lost my Galaxy S phone in the world record setting snowball fight. It's EPIC way to lose a phone, might I add. I didn't have insurance; only the warranty. Which meant I was on the hunt for a new handset. The iPhone 5 was trumpeted as the best of all time. I had alr...
